The Ontario Fruit & Vegetable Convention is pleased to announce registration is NOW OPEN!

The Ontario Fruit & Vegetable Convention (OFVC) is pleased to announce the 2025 Sweet & Craft Cider Competitions are now open for registration! Enter now to join fellow Ontario cider-makers in showcasing the high-quality ciders from across the province (…plus earn some bragging rights)!

Ontario Sweet Cider Competition

The Ontario Sweet Cider competition will take place FEBRUARY 12, 2025.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Cider must be made with 100% Ontario apples.
  • Only one sweet cider entry is allowed per business.
  • Quantity of cider to be shipped should be 4 Litres (or equivalent).
  • Cider must be delivered by Friday, February 7, 2025 to the Simcoe Research Station. Entries received beyond this date will be disqualified.

Entries must be 4L (or equivalent).

2024 Winners

Ontario Craft Cider Competition

The Ontario Craft Cider competition will take place FEBRUARY 18, 2025.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Cider must be made with 100% Ontario apples.
  • Only one cider entry per category (up to 3 categories) per business is allowed.
  • Quantity of cider to be shipped should be 1500 mL (or equivalent).
  • A commercial producer for the purpose of this competition is considered a producer with a manufacturer’s license issued by Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO).

Only one entry per category is allowed, up to 3 categories.

  1. Modern Cider
  2. Specialty Cider (including fruit, botanical, barrel-aged and hopped) – *NEW THIS YEAR! Separate medals will be awarded for hopped
  3. Traditional/Heritage Cider
